IN-TOWN SKIING REPORTS

Date - Time - Location: Skating and/or Classic; Excellent - Good - Fair - Poor.  Groomer's comments.
Become a fan of Boulder Nordic on Facebook to contribute or read voluntary reports from skiers, a handy option for when volunteer groomers may not be updating because they are slackers.

Please keep dogs on-leash at North Boulder Park

Dogs off-leash are causing various problems at NBPark, please be considerate.

Thanks!

Feb, 25 - North Boulder Park: Buh-bye.

Haystack Mountain Golf Course - See http://golfhaystack.com
Valmont City Park - Skiing should begin winter 2010-11
Dec, 15 - Foothills Park:  Very poor to no skiing.

*A note on classic tracks-it requires a suprisingly large amount of snow to set a classic track, around 8-10" of new, or some new on top of old, compacted snow.  At least one classic track is set whenever possible, otherwise, it works better to let skiers ski in their own track.

Total In-town Skiable Days for 2009-10 Season as of 2/25/10: 40 (Miles on the machine this season: 200+)
Records: 1993-94 ~ 90.  2005-06 ~ 70

Locations and Notes

North Boulder Park - Between 8th and 9th Streets and Dellwood and Alpine Avenues, just west of Boulder Community Hospital.  This is the first priority for BNC in-town grooming.

Haystack Mountain Golf Course - 5877 Niwot Rd.  Haystack allows the BNC to groom during specific periods and charges a discounted fee for skiing to BNC members with their membership card.  Haystack reports their own conditions at http://www.golfhaystack.com.

Foothills Community Park -  The Park is located in far, North Boulder off of Locust or Cherry Avenues.

Valmont City Park - Off of Valmont Rd, between Foothills Parkway and 55th St.  No grooming will take place at Valmont City Park during the 09-10 season due to construction and prairie dog conflicts.
